BCU Soccer vs. Dakota Wesleyan

The CSN staff will be blogging throughout today's soccer doubleheader with Dakota Wesleyan, at BCU's Faber Field.

12:20: 40 minutes until kick-off... beautiful day for soccer... sunny and upper 60's...

12:25: Both teams are going through their respective warm-ups... BCU Honorable Mention All-American Lisa Maxey is in street clothes... Dakota Wesleyan is unbeaten on the season and atop the GPAC conference with a record of 13-0-3 (9-0-1). The Chargers enter the game with a record of 4-9-2 (2-6-2).

1:00 - The match has begun!

1:07 - First goal of the game is scoreed by Kim Duff for the Tigers of Dakota Wesleyan, assisted by Kasha Roberts.

1:19 - A miscalculated pass to the Charger goalie turned out in favor for the Tigers as they received a point for the goal. The score is now 2-0, Dakota Wesleyan.

1:22 - The Tigers have outshot the Chargers 9-1 in the first 20 minutesof this half.

1:50 - It is the end of the first half, and the Tigers still lead with shots on goal, 7-1. The score still remains 2-0 with Dakota Wesleyan in the lead.

1:59 - Two minutes remain in the half as the coaches are saying their final words to their teams before starting the game up again.

2:11 - We are several minutes into the second half and there has not been much action.

2:26 - Dakota Wesleyan has taken more corner kicks than Briar Cliff, 12-1.

2:32 - Foul on Briar Cliff.

2:34 - Foul on Dakota Wesleyan.

2:36 - A goal was almost scored for the Chargers after a pass by Jen Schmaderer to Erinn Flynn, but the shot was wide.

2:39 - Goal by Kim Duff for the Tigers. This will make the score 3-0.

2:49 - A yellow card was given to Tiger player, Abby Hubbard.

2:49 - Final score for the women's game, 3-0.

3:04 - The men are warming up in preparation for their game with 6 minutes left before kickoff.

3:10 - The game has begun, it is beautiful weather out here, just a little bit chilly.

3:20 - Almost 8 minutes into the game, the Chargers have outshot the Tigers 3-0.

3:42 - A yellow card has been given to Leif Evers for the Tigers.

3:55 - A red card has been given to the head coach and a yellow to the asssitant, both for Dakota Wesleyan.

4:18 - It is now halftime of the men's game and the score remains 0-0.

4:23 - Goal by Parker Staroscik for the Chargers, the score is 1-0.

4:37 - The Chargers have outshot the Tigers 11-6 in today's game.

4:56 - Thomas Hunt has been given a yellow card.

5:10 - Final Score, Chargers 1, Tigers 0.
